LICENSING POLICY

The journal “Ethnomusicology” as a complete publication (including its structure, editorial processing, layout, design, and formatting) is an object of intellectual property of the publisher/editorial board of the Journal.

All materials in the journal are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, which permits any use, distribution, and reproduction of the materials in any format, provided that proper attribution is given to the author and the source of publication.

The author of a published article has the right to:

Authors who publish in this journal agree to the following terms:

use it for educational and methodological purposes (in higher education) and for scholarly purposes (preparation of a dissertation, publication as part of a monograph, preparation of conference papers, etc.);
post its electronic version on open-access web resources (personal websites; in the institutional repository of the author’s place of work), with a mandatory reference to its first publication.

Authors retain the right of authorship of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication of this work under the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license, which allows others to freely distribute the published work, provided that proper attribution is given to the authors of the original work and to its first publication in this journal.

Authors have the right to enter into separate additional agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the work in the form in which it was published by this journal (for example, to deposit the work in an institutional repository or to publish it as part of a monograph), provided that a reference to the first publication in this journal is maintained.

The journal’s policy permits and encourages authors to post their manuscripts online (for example, in institutional repositories or on personal websites) both prior to submission to the editorial office and during the editorial process, as this facilitates productive scholarly discussion and has a positive effect on the timeliness and dynamics of citations of the published work.
